지난 6일(화요일), UNIST 학부 총학생회 중앙집행기구가 오랜 기간동안 업무선으로 유지해 왔던 원격수업위원회 배석의 결실을 맺는, 최종 위원회 참석이 이루어졌습니다. 첨부파일을 통해 회의자료 역시 확인 가능합니다.
이번 회의를 통해 올해 초 소프트웨어 정책 변경 공지를 통해 안내드렸던 원격수업 인프라와 "ZOOM"해약의 상관관계 및 후속 매뉴얼 등을 짚어달라 요청하였고, "ZOOM"의 해약이 공식적으로 다가오는 8월 중 이루어짐을 안내받아 학우분들께 공유드립니다.
또한 원격수업위원회가 이때까지는 연간 두 차례 서면의결을 통해 원격수업 강좌의 승인 정도의 절차만을 관행으로서 수행해오고 있던 것을 확인하였습니다. 현행 원격수업 심의 대상 수업들의 맥락을 고려할 시 임용된 교원이 해외에 있거나, 원내 교육을 위한 마땅한 교육환경 인프라가 없어 온라인으로 진행하거나, 초빙/대우/겸임교수 등 비전임교원의 환경에 의한 결정임 역시 확인할 수 있었습니다. 회원 차원에서 교양 및 언어과목 개설 부족, 종류의 다양성 문제, 교수자가 감당할 수 있는 여석의 부족 등 여러 학사 문제가 제기되고 있다는 것을 알기에, 현재 해당 사항은 본부와의 주요 쟁점으로 논의되고 있고, 원격수업위원회의 활성화를 여러 차례 주장된 것입니다. 원내 원격수업 정책 및 인프라가 지금보다 더 활성화되어야 하기에 원격수업위원회의 존재의의에 부합할 수 있는 위원회의 활성화를 요구하였으며, 동시에 인문학부에 원격강좌 개설을 통한 언어 및 교양 학습권 보장의 당위성 역시 직접적으로 피력하였습니다.
원격수업위원회는 앞으로도 "① 원격수업 교과목 선정 및 개발·운영에 관한 사항" 에 그치지 않고, "② 원격수업 운영의 발전방안 모색과 정책 수립에 관한 사항, ③ 군휴학생을 위한 원격수업 교과목 운영에 관한 사항" 등 학우들의 학습권을 보장하는 방향으로 운영되어야 할 것입니다. 목적에 부합하는 위원회가 될 수 있게 지속적인 검토 및 주장을 이어가겠습니다.
On the 6th (Tuesday), gathering in the meeting of the remote learning committee, which had been maintained as a goal of UNIST Student Council Central Executive Committee for a long time, was held.
During this meeting, we requested an examination of the relationship between the remote learning infrastructure announced in the software policy change notice earlier this year and the termination of "ZOOM," as well as subsequent manuals. We have been informed that the termination of "ZOOM" premium in UNIST will officially take place sometime in August, and we are sharing this information with our fellow students.
Furthermore, we confirmed that the Remote Learning Committee has traditionally only conducted procedures for approving remote learning courses twice a year through written resolutions. Considering the context of the current remote learning review subjects, it was also confirmed that decisions are made based on factors such as appointed teachers being overseas, the lack of suitable educational infrastructure for on-campus education, or the environment for non-regular faculty members such as invited/adjunct/professor emeritus. As various academic issues such as the shortage of liberal arts and language courses, lack of diversity, and insufficient capacity for professors have been raised at the member level, these matters are currently being discussed as major issues with the headquarters, and the activation of the Remote Learning Committee has been advocated multiple times. We demanded the activation of a committee that aligns with the purpose of the existence of the Remote Learning Committee, as the policy and infrastructure for remote learning within the campus need to be more active. Additionally, we directly advocated for ensuring the right to language and liberal arts education through the establishment of remote courses in the School of Liberal Arts.
The Remote Learning Committee should operate in a direction that guarantees students' learning rights, not limited to "① Matters related to the selection, development, and operation of remote learning courses," but also covering "② Exploration of ways to develop remote learning operations and establish policies" and "③ Matters related to the operation of remote learning courses for military service leave students." We will continue to pursue continuous review and advocacy to ensure that it becomes a committee that aligns with its objectives.
